Hi All!

Newbie here.
I've been lurking around the forum and have been reading quite a few posts about the Cupra 300.

Currently I am driving a Corsa VXR E, lease will be over this Oct.
Have been considering the Cupra 300 5dr in Mystery Blue.

In terms of reliability, are they better than the 280, 290? As I have read that after a certain period of time they develop creaks and noises etc

Any other advice would be helpful too.
The Cupra will also be a lease for 2 years, so won't be kept for long term use.

Cheers!

Reliability wise would say way better than vaxual.

As for the 300 being more reliable highly doubt that just a 290 280 with different bumpers. Not seen any one say they've reached 10k miles in one yet

Seem to be lots of reports of better quality on 300. Whether that translates to improved reliability could be another question...

Different materials on interior better at closing sound out that's about it.

As to reliability being improved highly massively 100 percent doubt it. Every single part of the car, is the same OEM or VW genuine part as found in the 280 290 variation. Even with regards to performance I'm 99% certain the map files are identical in almost every way

As far as I can tell there manufactured in the same factory and in the same build time just different OEM front and rear bumpers and badges plus bigger screen in head unit.

New release of Mk4 Leon is expected to be 2019 there not gonna change it to a ground breaking level just marketing.

The 300 is a much more refined vehicle than my old 280 was. When I went to speak to the dealer about changing, I wasn't going to bother with a test drive as it was in essence the same car as the 280 and I expected it to be the same. I am pleased I did drive one though, as the 300 is a big improvement and there was nothing wrong with the 280. The whole "feel" of the car has changed, I can't put my finger on the difference but the 300 is a better car to drive (in my opinion).

As for reliability, I just hope the 300 is as good as the 280 was. I didn't have a single issue with it in the three years I owned it.

Thanks for your replies guys.
It's great to have insight from you all, now I just need to discuss the numbers with the dealership.

I must add, the VXR is a good car but after a year I started to become bored.
Great Recaro seats tho but the interior is rubbish.

Look forward to getting the 300 :)

Go onto parkers website mate before you go to the dealers for a price. Some decent offers on at the moment

Just checked but can't seem to find any that can beat the following:

Initial: £249
Monthly: £249 x 23
Admin Fee: £180
Metallic Paint.

I'm quite far out, Leicester.
But I have contacted Seat in Coventry to get them to match.

Yes mate good price to haggle with the other dealers, you will not be dissapointed in one I've had mine a day now and completely blown away with it . I've had some pretty fast cars in the past but this is something different the overall package and what's included.

I've been told December delivery.
Don't mind the wait but will certainly haggle :)

They quoted me a daft lead time but ended up here in 12wks from order. But I know the factory is now shut until September.

So may be longer ?? But worth the wait for the money compared to what they want for a r7 on lease and after driving both I rated the cupra over the VW

Yeah you're right.
For the money it's a steal!

In the past good R deals have always had high initial rentals, which have always puts me off.

Different LEDs (headlights) - supposed to be better. Dunno about reliability - people seem to feel the 300 is better screwed together, better trim but yeah, it's a facelift not a new model.[B)]

New headlights on the facelift are a lot better and I've had both on a 66 plate and now 17. Car feels better built to me but maybe because I also upgraded from se dynamic tech to fr tech (so cupra should be better still)
