Cupra immobilizer meltdown

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum but not to cupra's as am now on my third one.
My current one being a 2020 290 mk3 which I am having a nightmare with!
I bought the car 2 years ago at 15000 miles from a large retailer in Enfield when she was about 18 months old. They only supplied one key which I questioned at the time but got nowhere. She drove without fault until 2 months ago at 24000 miles when she decided to not start, long story cut short I had the car recovered to an independent vag specialist in essex who have told me the key has failed as it was not an original key, they ordered me a new key from seat but then said this was scrap (£400) and couldn't be apapted as the immobilizer coding has been changed. They now say it needs a new lockset as the car needs a new identity, and may need the dash and engine edu replacing at considerable cost!
I'm guessing the car may have been a finance repossession or stolen hence the dodgy key although it didn't show up on hpi.
To be honest I'm now considering trying to sell the car as a non runner as I'm beginning to lose faith that they can repair it, plus I have no car.
Wondered if anyone out there had any ideas or knows of anybody that could help?

Update on my dead cupra, lock set change and recoding with ODIS got vehicle running and driving fine, so thanks to Auditech bishops stortford for their work and patience!
Left with problem of no cruise or multimedia functions as activation codes were gone. This due to change of vehicle identity after dodgy key.
Took vehicle to Hazzy in St Albans and 45 minutes later fully functional car again. Boy do they know their stuff!!
One good thing to come out of this is I’ve found two honest knowledgeable companies to use again when necessary.
