Thinking of selling K1, what's it worth?

Ok, found out recently Baby #2 is on the way and contemplating getting rid of the Leon to free up some cash.

It's a May 2008 K1, white, black wheels.
Pretty much as new condition, no extras. nearly 11k miles.
It's been Bluefinned but could be reverted back to stock (obviously).

What's it worth on the market at the moment (there don't seem to be many around to compare to).

have you treid looking at some seat dealers sites and see if they have something similar.

As a private sale the current view is that you should pitch the price (assuming excellent condition) at between retail and excellent, so I would say as a private sale £16,250. The market is problematic at the moment with scrappage allowance etc, so worth asking trade (dealer) what they would buy it for.

£16250 is very optomistic, there was a 08 plate K1 in black, being sold privately, in Wigan a few weeks ago, he was looking for £14995, but it wouldnt sell. He ended up p/xing it for a new Focus, and got £13900.

What are you looking at getting next? I have 57 plate FR TDI in black with 8k on the clock, if you wanted to do a p/x.

I'd say you'd be realistically looking at putting it up for 15250 with a view to accepting 14750 - 15000 for it.

Contact a few seat dealers though and see what they'd give you for it for their stock. I did this for my non k1 08 cupra and was pleasantly surprised!

If I was going to get under 15K then I'd be tempted to keep it for a while longer. It's due a service so will ask the dealer what they'd give. Also not keen on going for a private sale on a reasonably expensive car, hassle with test drivers, etc...

P/X for something else may be worth considering.

All the dealer network used, white K1's are between 18 and 19K.
