Thud from suspension on Freetrack - HELP

Hello,

Just been away on hols and the car has developed a rather annoying THUD which appears to come from the front passenger wheel area.

It is more more noticable over harsh bumps at low speed <40mph.

It did do it the odd time before but now it is a lot more common.

Could something be loose?

Or is it a sign of something broken with suspension/drive/steering?

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. I know it will need to go in but then will they find the fault and make it better!

quite likely something like an ARB link has snapped. pretty crap design overall IIRC

I'd just jack the car up, whip the wheel off & have a look if there's something obviously amiss

Hi M0rk, thanks for that will take the wheel off tomorrow and have a look and see if can spot anything broken. (Can't believe I never thought of that)

What is an ARB link?

And what does IIRC stand for?

Well went to the dealer on Saturday and they could not find anything. However have ordered a new strut and some bearings (?).

On the run could not recreate the problem. However when got close to home on the return trip it did it loads.

Seems to occur when steering is turned to the right and you hit a bump (such as on a roundabout).

VERY ANNOYING!!![:@]

Need it sorting as got a trip across Europe in a few weeks time. Should I ring SEAT and see if they know of a specific issue that this could relate to?

gonna say probably a shock gone and when it extends you get the thud. happened to mine when I put Eibach springs on. hopefully should have new Eibach shocks shortlty then it will be dropped 30mm again!
