Time Attack 2008

For those who've never heard of this motorsport phenomenon currently hitting the UK, here's some pics I took from the latest round at Silverstone.

Roger Clark Motorsport Impreza (~900bhp now) driven by Olly Clark beat Steve Guglielmi in his Lotus by 0.04 secs!!!! Winning time was around 58 secs for the lap around the short national circuit.

900bhp is a shockingly huge amount of power given that the Toledo S2000 lapped the National circuit in 1m00.927s with about 260bhp

Skill vs money & power I guess?

They don't use slicks tho Mark...Toyo R888's track day rubber is the control tyre.

Olly is more of a rally driver than circuit racer but he's getting better.

Tom Ferrier is driving the Zen Impreza tho..but that car is new so more to come from it.

it doesn't have self cleaning mech (not that they work from what i've just read)..

so could get one of those blowers. i can actually see some crap sitting on the filter actually lol

The elise runs a 1.8t engine which i think used to be tuned by jabba,not so sure who is doing it now?
I was in the pits with the NR team(last car in pictures)came 7th in pro, the cars are awesome,the noise as they fired down the straight was amazing.

Watched this at Knockie a few weeka ago along with the EDC,the power in those time attack cars is truly awesome.The green RC DEVELOPMENTS Lancer was running without a spoiler as the downforce broke one of the struts,and lasted 3 laps before a huge spin.Will need to dig out some pics too.If I remember that Lotus is almost all carbon fibre and running a charge-cooler system.
