My recent purchase 2001 (built Dec 2000) 1.8T has 63000 miles odd on the clock seems to be genuine lot of old MOT's has a Gates timing belt fitted according to the car dealer I bought it from is this original?
Reason I'm asking the Honest John website reports that 1.8T engines suffer timing belt failure between 70K - 80K miles should I change it anyway in the next few months? Reading the official manual (Elsawin) you seem to have to virtually remove the engine & half the car to access the belt anybody done this? or should I bite the bullet & get the dealers (miles away) or an independent garage to do it - any good ones in the Swansea area?

Bargain cambelt kit.......plenty more to be had!!!!

Just letting you guys know about a newby on ebay.

I've just won a full cambelt kit for my tdi alhambra (tentioner/belt/roller/bolts) for £15.47

He seems to have quite a few listed and a lot of his auctions start at 99p

Worth watching.

Oh, when it came today i was half expecting a genuine seat/vw box but with budget parts inside, i can vouch there all genuine parts...................BARGAIN :)))))
