So hopefully this month im looking at getting a different car. Looking around the 17kish mark and have seen some nice cupras within this range and also some really good 1.8 TSI Fr's

I travel about 380 miles a month but torn between what to go for. What would you do?

Having just collected a Cupra and previously running a Mk3 DIESEL FR fully loaded, I would definitely advise the Cupra.
I was getting a 150 1.4 FR SC and then made mistake of test driving a Cupra.
I'm willing to take the hit on the mpg as the car is simply awesome.
Go for a test drive, that will make your decision for you.

I believe a test drive will eliminate any doubt you may have - the Cupra is just awesome!

If you don't buy one, you'll get to know first-hand what the oft used phrase 'rue the day' feels like...

Buy the Cupra!

I do a similar number of miles a month and on a sensible commute I'm now getting 32-35mpg.

But I also get endless smiles and even after two and a half years of ownership, love it as much as the day I got it. Most complete, all round fun car I've ever had. You won't regret it.

Thanks for the repsonses! I think due to the low mileage i do each month a Cupra is a must!

You are lucky to do few enough miles that efficiency is not really an issue! Use this while you can to have a fun car - in the future you might be forced to get a boring hyper-miler :p

Haha! Yep exactly. I think I would regret more not getting one!

Well I do about 30k/Year and thinking about a Cupra or M135/140. It will cost a fortune in petrol but we'll all be AA or PP3 powered soon!

2015 Leon ST FR 184 DSG

I've got the 180FR which is by no doubt a great car, I absolutely love it...... but given the situation you are in get the CUPRA.

_______________
Seat Leon FR 1.8 TSI DSG, MY16, Alor Blue
Nissan Pulsar 1.2DiG-T CVT

Cupra / RS / AMG / M / etc...

Regular cars are for regular people or people who don't like going FAST.

I've got a 184 fr on.lease.. Test drove the cupra 290...

I'd say definitely get the cupra it's no brainer..

I can't wait to hand my car back to get in a cupra or golf r

A test drive is all you need to do. These Cupras are just fantastic. They're also rare, which I like. I've not seen another ST on the road since I got mine last September. There are so many Golfs and Focus STs out there. Depending on your circumstances, you might want to consider one as they are just as quick and properly practical to boot....if you'll pardon the pun.

I've just put my cupra up for sale :) It's randomly the current cheapest cupra in the country on autotrader if you want to pm if you're interested!

THIS. I see other Cupra's about once every 6 months. Much rarer than your GTD's GTI's, R's and yes, even A45's.

I'm around 1800 miles a month in my cupra and it's a absolute hoot to drive every day.
5800 miles on the clock since September 27th,front tyres on 4.5mm used tons of fuel and loved every mile of it.
Due a new one in March, gonna go for a cupra 300,dsg fwd in monsoon grey.

I think there is about 5 cupras round here local to me. One even with the same colour scheme. White with orange line. I thought my missus was the only one with no taste :)

You will regret not getting one :D.

When we went looking for a Leon I was looking at the 1.4tsi as the misses wanted something sensible. I took a 280 out and that was that, I secretly only wanted the Cupra and the montly cost gap was small so made it a no brainer.
