Guys,

I've got a 2007/57 FR 170, it's done 35,000 and we've owned it for nearly 4 years, as we do such short trips the DPF is an issue, I've been Quoted £300+ vat to delete it and don't know whether to go for it or not, what is the general opinion?

Only thing I'd be wary of it how the do the delete as new mot reg's has to VISUALLY have a dpf fitted, so if it's gutted it will be fine but not if a straight pipe is welded in its place. If you're only doing short journeys I'd say go for it as it's going to block up eventually and cause issues unless you do a good run every now and again.

Thanks, the wife has just come back now from a drive and the light has come on, so off for a run later for me!, they do alive it open and take out and reweld back up...

had mine deleted on my mazda 6 sport. best thing i ever did as above as long as its still there to look at its fine, my garage took inners out welded back up and then remapped it.

At the risk of not being helpful, if you're only averaging 5k miles per year, have you considered just selling it and buying a petrol?

hi i may be wrong but you need to turn off dpf via ecu as it will stay on if removed so i got it mapped and turned off for same price roughly was 350 all in

Yes the software needs to be changed to support the lack of a DPF.

Be very careful who you choose to remap the PD170, The Siemens PPD ecu and injectors make it a pain in the rear to get right. Companies such as Shark and Darkside offer very good mapping for the PD170 but K-Tune I would say are the best as they only remap the PD170.

If you just ask for the dpf gutting and a dpf software delete you should get what you want , but there are a lot of bad company's out there so try find one that's recommended to you.
