Looking at some stuff atm debating to go BT or not

Was thinking getting the cobra exhaust system fitted and intercooler and then save and go BT

At the moment me and the other half paying wayyyyy over the top for insurance we changed from a 206 to the leon cupra so jumped a tad lol got it in September if I remember correctly and last insurance payment next month then renewal in Jan or Feb we checked new quotes and its less than half we are paying at the moment if we pay off in one hit which I think we are gonna go for. Sooo.... The cash that's gonna be saved I'm thinking of going the BT route, what do you guys think?

Old plans or new plans?

Old: cobra system, 200 cell cat 3" dp, fmic, 80mm jetex filter and remap

New: IE rods, backdraft t25 manifold with gt28, wmi, fmic, cobra system 3" dp and sports cat

Get a stage 1 map for now, or if you can get a dp and sports cat and a custom map... that will give you 235+ and very usable. You can still add mods as you go but gradually over time and still enjoy a very quick car.

You need better brakes, suspension before BT and you might feel that stage 2 is enough.
Enjoy your car :)

Cheaper to buy a LCR then map up to stage 2 than go down bigger turbo, new internals, fmic, which wont be fun without better brakes better suspension, and so on...

Maybe, but I've done a few bits to my car and fixed all the interior up so I'm happy with it, after all there isn't a great deal between the LC and LCR after you rip the turbos and exhausts off them?

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm looking into getting the cobra exhaust system soon and maybe a 3" dp with 200cell sports cat..FMIC is soon to be done does anyone know if the 600x300x76mm intercooler would be usable with the gt28 at a later date?

There are lots of differences between them - front and rear brakes, completely diferent front suspension setup, different sized wrist pins, different I/C setup and routing, different injectors and MAF, different inlet mani, LCR has ESP, EBD, wheels etc and the list goes on

However addressing your original question i'd say hold off thoughts of BT until you've at least got the majority of the supporting mods in place
I'd say aim for stage 2 first and see how it goes as there so much to buy as you are modding from a mostly standard car

You want a single pass fmic ideally as for size i cant say for sure. I found the twin pass restrictive so changed to a larger single which allowed the best figures from the turbo. Cant really say if the cooler size made the difference or the easier flowing pipework.
Your K03s turbo will feel laggier with a huge ic, worth noting if your sticking with standard turbo for a while.

Most of what youve written gets changed for BT though. Lots of cupras have esp too ;) They even come with wheels...

The only LCR bits I run are the maf housing and brakes.

But id agree that at least would save you money. But then you'd loose the cupras good looks :D

This was my point, brakes suspension and so on... A lot that separate the LC and LCR will be changed when going BT wether it be a LC or LCR

Also what it's going to cost me to go stage 2 could go towards the BT or supporting mods such as brakes and suspension

Not really
Brakes are an optional upgrade, suspension geo will probably remain LC, i doubt you'd change for 20mm pistons, I/C and possibly routing would be changed, injectors would be to suit turbo and need LCR MAF, inlet mani would be the same unless going very big requiring a bigger plenum chamber, only very early cupras had ESP and LCR's have EBD
