i'm posting this in here as i don't know what mark of toledo it is lol. when i was in the dealers last week i was speaking to the sales guy about my ongoing turbo problems with my mk3 ibiza. i mentioned to him that the turbo IS kicking in then after a while it stops and i lose all power. he says this sounds the same as a common problem there was with toledo tdi's. apparently something stops working and the turbo sort of "clogs up" then when you turn the engine off and restart the car it kind of like "reboots" it and all is fine until it "clogs" again. just wondered if anyone had this problem and knows of a solution? or whether you just have to buy a new turbo.

sticking turbo vanes puts the engine into overboost and safe mode, restarting it resets the safe mode but it will return again. turbo can be taken apart and the vanes cleaned as one solution.
