LOL! no one is actually against you mate. it's common-sense really to do your homework before hand when making a big purchase.

It was a full week from when I first sat in a Mk5 to when I placed the order. I spent every spare hour I had during that week doing research before pulling the trigger. I made sure I understood every aspect of the specs and options available and the end result was the perfect car for me at the best possible price with the absolute minimum of fuss.

Most of the info is right there in the brochures but the questions I did have were quickly answered by the extremely helpful guys and gals on here! :)

a car was bottom of the list at the time i had bought a new house and had baby on the way so it wasnt really the big purchace.

i had not planned on buying a new car and the due date for the car to come was 7 days before the baby was due so time wasnt on my side.

the car is 100% perfect apart from these and when you put it down to £100 its nothing really, i just got annoyed the more i think about it the more i dont right care lol i have had the car 9 weeks and not needed to use them so i can wait for them till i buy the cradle and lead

edited lol

you bought a baby?! haha sorry i read that and it cracked me up a treat :) but no one on here is against you just think you should of asked more about the extras as one dealer i went to said the racing brakes are a pointless extra so not to get them and now everyone on here is saying they are amazing blah blah blah. [:@] But you just really need to do your homework about all the extras as the car was newish i dont think they were as aware or up to date as they should be.

I guess people who do not change their cars often or who have never purchased a new one will quite often take the sales persons word for it. After all they should know. But the reason they are around at all is to sell cars so there could be a conflict of interest from time to time between what the customer wants and what the sales person wants to sell. This is not a bash at Seat or just the motor trade, it's just a fact of life. Sales people are very good sometimes at only answering half a question but with such confidence that the desired answer is implied but not spoken.

One to put down to experience I guess.

Before I bought mine I did a lot of scrounging for information so I ended up with what I asked for. A good job as it turned out as the 2011 model year cars had a few extra bits thrown in that I could have easilly been charged for as extras.

Oh incidentally I'm not in sales but I do deal with some who are.

lol it feels like bought she is an expensive little one :D

i dont regret buying the car and it is better than i expected it to be.

i still am going to go to seat and ask about them its worth a try :D

Thats the important thing, the car is good and you're happy with it, thats what matters. Always worth asking Seat, if you don't ask you won't get. I hope you get a positive result.

I've recently taken delivery of an Ibiza and ordered the dashboard mounting. I knew I needed an adaptor and ordered this also. I have a tomtom one XL and my son has a newer tomtom one.

My sat nav does not fit and my son's does. As he has IQ routes, I bought a new IQ routes tomtom, same size etc just the up to date model and it doesn't fit the cradle.

Looks like Tomtom have improved the way the sat nave fits to the windsreen and it is no longer compatible. My best option now seems to be to swap my new tomtom with my son's.

I have the XL and it massively annoys me that Seat don't offer a cradel to fit. even more so because you can't buy the Tom Tom that the cradel is designed for any more.

I ended up making my own because I didn't want it stuck to the windscreen and it's unlikely Seat will offer an alternative any time soon.

As for the topic under discussion, just read the brochure and do your homework. When I handed over the amount of cash that I did I made sure I knew what I was getting.

I only paid half of it my company Paid the other half so in that respect I got an amazing deal trust me I wouldn't of paid that much.

I was going to get a fabia vrs se on a 07 plate for 8.5k till my boss said he would double what I had as a bonus = result lol

Far from it lol I've got about £500 to my name and I'd say it's thinner than normal but I'm not too bad on lenth
