Top View is 360 is panoramic. They use four cameras to built up a 360' image which you can page around. Uses projected image on the cameras to give the above image. I use it all the time on my Ateca. White line parking it's great on. I wouldn't say it's that good for kerb parking and obviously you need light to get the cameras showing an image, so not totally useful on kerb parking in the dark. I wouldn't go back myself from having it. On high SUVs you can see the corners.... Saying that it is digital projection on the wing mirrors so the scale isn't correct as you move out on the sides. Has it's uses, reduces faffing about when parking.
It computer generates the image from the four cameras giving "top view". It's like driving an Epsom scanner in real time ?. Clever. You just have to remember the side views are distorted so the image position left and right are not as viewed. The front and rear view will see walls, grass bank etc but from experience in Croatia they don't see narrow passage way wall protectors in entrances to old carriage hotels. The car isn't a horse carriage ?. Don't try it. Dented the bumper. Learnt from my mistake ?. I was waved through the first time by the hotel receptionist... top view doesn't give you the same accuracy ?. Bumper good as new when it was popped out. All round ultrasound, that and top view are musts to me. Former good for single track roads, lots of squealing let the other guy sort getting past out.
