Where's buzz when you need him? Need a new speedo.

Those who have been mk2 members for a while will remember. Best thread on here ever.

TO INFINITY ..... AND BEYOND!!!!!
That was a classic. Ranks with the 'my mates a getaway driver ' one .....

EPIC thread, I must find! And when people start to judge, please remember Buzz well and truly redeemed himself and became a respectable Cupra owner!

My 280 has shown 150 ish on the speedo a couple of times when out on my fav borders roads, and no I won't be putting up a video.

That's kph, right...?

150 mph..... on non-Motorway .... ? Tell me I misunderstood...
Btw, I used to live in Newcastle and I know the Borders area (Jedburgh, Berwick, etc and everything in between)...

Well, I have done 212 kph = 131 mph with my 1.6 TDI (without any modifications). So I don't see why it would be that difficult to believe. That said, 131 mph is absolutely nuts and I've only done it once or twice, on a nearly empty Autobahn in the middle of the day for a very short time.

One of the best and safest roads I know for high speed is the A7 from Wurzburg to Ulm - Memmingen (Lindau, Bregenz), btw. I think it was there that I reached 131 mph.

I've got the evidence of 205 kph / 127 mph... http://imgur.com/OnydnPp Sadly the person who took these unfortunately deleted the 212/131 image.

So 212kph indicated by your Speedo right? Any idea what speed you were actually doing? Speedometer do over read by varying amounts , and the higher the speed the bigger the likely variation. Also your tyres will have an effect. There is - albeit slight - difference as the tyre wears.

I don't fuss about that. Speedo is what I can see. I trust speedo more than I trust GPS, for sure, as GPS always has a lag so unless you're on cruise control on a flat road, it's never accurate either.

Apparently the O.CT Tuning Cupra on youtube does 289KPH

179 MPH

Could be downhill with booster rockets and a tail hurricane

I did 69 MPH on the way back from St Helens

:D

Speedo showed 160 but in reality 155 as it is governed to (private road, a long one at that)
- I'll post a 0-60 too, 5.56 seconds
