Dude just out of curiosity will running 3" piping (76mm) give any more benefit over the 63mm piping? Cheers

Just getting confused now. A lot of peeps get the 3" piping too

Sent from my iPhone when I should be working....

I don't know about the piping to be honest mate. I've got one clip and it's fine, it blew off once but that was due to it being a shite clip so put a better one on and no problems.

Hi sorry mate literally just joined this forum , I tried to pm you cupra barn but I don't know how and have tried to befriend you in the process
I just wanted to ask if your still happy with the welly intercooler now it's been on there a while, also how did you mount as you said previously that was the only hard part of the install
Thanks

The welly cooler is still going strong mate, really happy with it. It cools best when ambient temp is around 12-13 degrees and pulls like a train.

When I mounted mine I went to B&Q and got a length of box section. It bolts onto the cooler and then drilled into the centre support in front of the rad, the v shaped bit and bolted the box section to that. For added support I put 2 bars on the bottom and mounted them under the car.

Give me a sec ill look for pics.

Edit: found some pics of the mountings

Brilliant mate, I have been looking at the airtec one but this looks just as good!
Do you know if the piping kit and intercooler will fit my 225 cupra r? Or is there no Difference mate ?

And oh right sounds a bit hard but worth a try for the saving in money.
Did you have to cut bumper bar or anything like that ?

Pictures would be brilliant thanks again mate

I have a 225 inlet mani so yes it would be the same route, what piping kit are you looking at? I got a universal one and made those fit.

You need to trim the bumper by the fog light mountings but it is possible to keep the mounts and your fogs.

Nice info and photos,I've also got a wellycooler and custom pipework ready to go on and I'm looking for photos of the bottom mounts for the core, anyone got any more photos?

The trimming of bumper required.

Trimming of crash bar. Once you've drilled the spot welds out you can take the back panel off and you shouldn't really need to trim it then.

Hope it helps :)

3" UNIVERSAL INTERCOOLER KIT TYPE B 600x300x76MM

If you put this into eBay it will come up, I can't put the URL up yet as not enough posts .
But I was thinking this one and then having the reducers on the other end if you know what I mean?
What do you think mate ?

That's the one and that's what the rest of us have done, reducer off the core. If you ask the seller to do it for £80 they normally do.

That's a good guide there mate, done after my fitting :( wish I had that to work from lol
Boys, definitely worth having a read of this guide, looking at it it gives you everything you need, top effort ReDBull

Cupra barn, did u have to relocate anything such as horn etc when you fitted yours mate?

really looking into this and thinking of doing it myself but worried its not as easy as it looks and i dont want blue pipes i want red haha! how long did it take you to do it ?

That first intercooler is no bigger than your standard side coolers combined! So id defo go for that welly cooler as people use them for big power you wont need to change it again its well worth the monies! Wont cause lag either, you will need to make sure all hoses are proper tight before fitting your bumper otherwise youll next thread will be about boost leaks lol
