Hi,

After searching I'm still unsure as to an answer so thought is try to get it cleared up here.

I got both track rod ends replaced recently, parts ordered by reg number and all fitted fine.

I went to get the alignment done today and the garage said they were too short, so I left there and went somewhere else to get a second opinion, they have now ordered 2 track rod ends for Monday to see if the original ones were correct.

So I got home and checked euro car parts and they list the same part for all petrol engine sizes from 1L to 1.8 cupra and at 74mm long.

So the question is, forgetting about the "for sports suspension" ones, are U.C.P correct or does the cupra have different ends to the lower engine sized cars?

Can you not compare the one on the car to the one to be fitted?

But IIRC, they're all the same

They do make a shorter and longer one for the ibiza

Which one your car needs is down to sizing them up with what was on the car before

Ive been told this by a few places now and if you look on vwspares.com they state the same

Mine required the longer ones when i changed them

I did read about the short and long ones, they were fitted by a family friend who when I phoned today said the old and new parts matched when swapping.
(i wasn't there when they were fitted)
However euro car parts only list the one part and these ones were from Dingbro using the reg number to order.
When the garage today ordered the set from their supplier to compare there was no mention of long or short ones.

I bought the shorter one by mistake there is two sizes cupra needs longer ones

Well she's all fixed today, it was the shorter ends I needed although from what I've been told there was a model revision so other Cupras may require the long ones.

The prob was that the guy who fitted them put 2 drivers side ends on instead of one drivers and one passenger track rod end so once I got that sorted the garage made sure the assembly was all straight and adjusted it all to centre the steering.

Got a full printout now of toe, camber, castor, thrust angle, which means nothing to me but the important part is toe is now 0.0 :)
