Trip Computer

I have a 2001 tdi se and found that every time the car is swtiched off/on the figures on the trip reset themselves ie the average mpg, miles etc.

Is this how it is supposed to work or should be keep the figures until they have been reset?

I am having battery problems so could this be related?

Hi Iceman. The readings on the trip should not re set by themselves. It is more than likely to be connected to your battery problems.

I did read, somewhere on here, that there are two settings for the trip computer. Try searching "trip computer settings"

thanks for replies. I have an "instant" mpg and then a memory 1 which according to the manual stores the information for 2 hours after the ignition is switiched off. There should also be a memory 2 which i don't seem to have which stores the averages until manually reset.
