:help:am i alone on this one then

Hi I dont know about the front but I just changed my rear axle bushes for powerflex one's and it's a right pain in the a#@e.....some advice......drill the bush out it's alot quicker than any other method and you can do one side at a time by wedging a bit of door wedge style wood between the chassis mount to get it down far enough, the drivers side is harder as the petrol tank is in the way but after alot of swearing [:@]and the making of a tool to pull the new bush in its very niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice:D

how much did you pay for the powerflex bushes and how are they compared to oem i was toying with the idea of gettin either fabia vrsor LCRones but might just fill the voids if the that bad to remove

I take it you have a LC? so any of them bushes would make a difference the stock LCR bushes are very good and that's what the golf mk4s put in or the skoda vrs which are about the same but less money.

My car is an LCR but I'm taking it to the track now.....I just want it stiff in the twistys so it's poly bushes all round, Powerflex are About £50, they have definately stiffened things up, not so great if you have older folk in the back though :D

kind of a compromise between comfort and performance

Poly bushes last 3x longer aswell which is something to think about

I've got the same pair of rear axle polybushes parked in the cupboard. Personally I think them, the rear front wishbone bushes and the engine dogbone mount are the three biggest on the car and therefore must offer the biggest opportunity for improvement by stiffening either by replacement or modification.

If you do fill a bush with tiger seal I wouldn't refit/ reload it for about 36hrs. I put a bottom engine mount back on the Micra (voided 100mm diameter jobbie) 12 hrs after I filled it. Clearly it was skinned but not fully cured. Drove 8 mile on it and it had spludged out like a bad zit!

BTW I heard tiger seal is the stuff that windscreens are glued in with. There are better, faster alternatives now. If you ever get chattin with a mobile windscreen man it might be good to ask him nicely if he'd be willing to give you a leftover tube of what they use nowadays. ;)
