tuning my cupra mk3

im thinking about getting some tuning done,what do you lot and what power is it pushing out? im thinking bigger intercooler and remap to around 220bhp. what is the best route to takearts,tuning company,stage1/2/3?

just want your ideas and guides.

Im currently running 230/40ish bhp,(RR to confirm in sept) Thats with a FMIC, Turboback exhaust (miltek) Forge TIP and modified airboxwith a K03s. Im currently running revo stg2 remap but will be updated to proberly a jabba custom map in the next few months with aquamist. Dont forget about the brakes and suspension though as the standards are crap when it comes to this sort of power

Are you currently standard at the moment? If you are start with a remap and move on from there.

Afair bit lol, If you keep your eyes peeled on here you will get some decent bargains. but for a run down...

forge FMIC and Forge TIP £500 fitted by the good man M0rk

Miltek DP & race cat £350 again from here 2 months old

Miltek cat back £220 again from here

modified air box and green panel filter £38 approx

Revo stg1 was £399 but upgraded to stg2 for free again by m0rk

Got my wilwoods from h00ch fitted for £400

Forge 007p DV £78 approx.

Dont think ive missed anything off

It is quite pricey but stops and goes very well

thats not to bad is it! so looking at just over a grand to get it going well. a definate remap and intercooler is on the cards i think, but suspension and brakes are a must aswel!

Id say a remap first, but then the restrictive parts them being the DP on the ibiza and the SMIC is pretty crap. I had all the goodies apart from the k03s before i got my brakes done but that entierly up to you!

Sorry to jump in on your post, but whats an FMIC/SMIC when its at home?

yeah the smic doesnt really allow for much in the region of power a fmic is a definate when going for higher bhp.

smic is smaller and located at the side where there is less air flow, the fmic is bigger and at the front so more air gets to it therefore keeping it cooler.smic is a standard item.

for a forge one which most people reccommend on here is around £750 i think, But there are cheaper options such as the laguna 1.9DCI you would have to get the pipes made up yourself and its quite hard to get a perfect fit kind of slants to one side, another option is the THS intercooler again you would need to get your own pipes made up but i personally prefere the look of this one and its a nice fit. If i hadnt of got my forge at such a decent price this is the route i would have gone! For these 2 i think your looking at around the £300 mark. If you do a search theres loads of info on both.

As for fitting im not to sure what a garage would charge a couple of hours labour maybe? I had M0rk fit mine in with the price but after watching him and him teaching me as we went i would proberly give it ago if the time came again.

Nothing wrong with a 2nd hand one aslong as it doenst look damaged id say, mine was 2yrs ol when i brought it from m0rk nothing wrong with it what so ever made the car pull alot more! I found on here quite a few people buy/sell forge ones on the forum as they are quite expensive new.

yeah i think i will have to go forge as it is what everyone i have spoke to reccomend.just finding one, will have a scan throught the for sale section and see what i can find. so if i get a intercooler can i remap it to stage 2 and have no worries??

for stg 2 ideally you will need the exhaust, modified airbox/induction kit, diverter valve and cooler
