sure u dont mean a "whoo " sound

thats the vnt mechanism inside the turbo resetting to low boost positon between changes

i believe:think:

Stoney.... just to go off topic a little, what happened to the Mk3 cupra driver on the m1? ;)

lol, was pretty close , at 120+ he was pulling away a fair bit , but getting there it was close all the way , sat well with an upsolute mk3 also took 100 + till he shifted also ,

Hello,
Only had FR Tdi a few weeks and noticed (more so when the windows down) a sort of chirp sound when I change gear. What is this sound? I know diesels dont have dump valves.

I have noticed (in my Leon FR TDI) that sort of sound, but to me it appears to be coming from the clutch, when I put the clutch down, mainly when I am tanking it, there is a sort of squelchy noise (doesnt happen when just poodling around town).

Its not the turbo noise, as this is a slight whoosh.

I get chirping - wastegate chatter in 3rd and 4th if I rev to just under 3,000 rpm and let off - keeps me amused [B)]

Have to say after 2,000 miles the mid-range is getting better :D

Ok. Took the car out for a run. There is a sound like cstevens said, a sort of squelchy sound but if I give it a good blast and change gear quickly there is a sound like a dump valve. Is it just the turbo spinning down so fast as to give a whoosh sound or something else?
