If I had the money I’d go for a TTE420 or TTE480 onwards keep things nice and simple in the bay factory locations for pipes etc. But for my car I want to use it for track so think stage2+ is plenty of power for a fast track car so depends on the what you intend to use your car for mate. You won’t need to forge the engine for TTE420 but if you’ve got the money you might as well build it overkill.

As already mentioned tte420/480 , or venom450

If not a big stinking garret but I'd imagine the cost of all the modifications to get one to fit and work properly would be hella big

Have you driven a stage2+? My mate has a 380bhp k1 with 380ftlb and when I drove it I couldnt find a road suitable to even use that's power.

I've already forged an engine on a previous cupra because it blown up due to poor maintenance by the previous keeper , see you have a cupra R which has the CDL engine , youl be sound going hybrid stage 3 on that bud , put your money into a brake set up so you can stop better if it was me

It’s currently running stage 2+ now just gotten the bug of getting used to it and wanting a bit more. To be quite honest with you I wasn’t really sure what the CDL engine could withstand, I thought anything after 370-380 was pushing it. What sort of horse power you recon you could push with the tte420/480 without forging it

Pretty sure their names derive the power they can push

Hamza on youtube did a 450bhp ed30 golf on a stock engine R tech tuned with a venom450

A lad a knew had a 450bhp k1 which was sold to a raffle company but he had ran that for quite a while at that power aswell.

It's the torque that would kill the engine so aslong as it not spikey or insanely high to the point you need a 4 paddle clutch (got a 6 paddle in my caddy , its not overly friendly on hill starts)

Me personally if I still had either of my 2 cupras would be tte420 , get that magic 4xx number and spare the change on some handling upgrades
