Hello everyone,

I'm happy owner of Seat Leon with DKZA and DQ381. I love this car besides changing gear like in diesel (1700 rpm lol). I drove my friend car (also same engine and gearbox) who has stage2+. Here is my question. What to choose? Drivability program or Stage2+? I'm not planning rise up power of engine (it's enough for me). I just like smooth drive and no problems with gearbox in future, Maybe someone has any pros and cons regarding TVS.

Well there is almost certainly no cons except the price.

I did have TVS on my R ST briefly, but had it removed as it didn’t work well with Launch control and my [then] ABT tuning box (something to do with actual torque not being visible between gearbox and ecu due to the tuning box)
I know another user with a JB4 who had similar.

Apart from that it was fantastic, and everyone else who has TVS universally sings its praises.
I will be having it again now I’m Revo stage 1 on the ecu and removed ABT.

Regarding your usage, remaining stock, I’d still go for the Stage 2+.
reason being you still get
1) multi step LC
2) improved shifting speeds all modes.
3) true manual mode if required
4) improved paddle response

Plus then all the driveability and lifetime extender stuff you get with the Driveability upgrade.

Only downside you get is loss of gearbox warranty if you are still in warranty period.

Thank You!

1. To be honest I never used LC in this car. No need ;P i lost interest of burning tires in front of IKEA ;P

2. Shifting speed is not upgraded in Drivability stage? Will it be still laggy?

3. I didn't order shifters on wheel. I had it in my old car. before and i used it maybe twice over 4 years. Manual shifting i used maybe 3 or for times for fun :p

4. what do you mean? It's this OBD tune to change paddle response like in Audi? or faster reaction for push peedle (faster gear change?)

About warranty. I don't know how in UK but her in Poland shop will create the most crazy story to not repair your car. Once i heard from one guy (form VW) that the best if i will lose some part during driving, because it will be easier to diagnose. I worry that such a low rpm shifting will kill sooner or later flywheel or clutch.

Shifting speed will be the same as it is now, it’s the shift points that will change with Driveability software only.

The paddle response (not ‘pedal’ response) means there is less delay from when you use the paddle shifters to the gear changing.
Very very minor point this one and hardly noticeable to be honest .

I can confirm that TVS does a very good job with their tuning programs. I have their Stage 2+ tuning for both engine and DSG on my Cupra R ST for over a year now and I'm very happy with both.
TVS Engineering has more different stages in their program than most tuners have, so there's a lot to choose from. For your DQ381 7 speed DSG you can find all options here: https://tvsengineering.com/en/dsg-gearbox/dq380-dq381/
Tip: Don't forget to change categories on the left (in red), for opening more options.
If you contact them, you can even bring in your personal wishes, to get the tune the way you want. At least I could with Stage 2+, don't know if that's also possible for the Drivability tune.
