Choofing noises!!!!

Mk2 FL Cupra.

Set off from work this morning to be greeted with a loud twanging noise from the rear, sounded like something loose banging around when I pressed the brakes and set off (no noise over bumps though) but after 5 mins of driving it seems to have stopped. Got home then took it straight back out, no noise.

Any ideas? Scared the he'll outta me lol. Was icy this morning so thought it could be brakes but it sounded more like in the middle and too twanging, also too light or high pitched for the exhuast banging around. had a look and cannot see anything loose.

Also the drivers side front round blower makes a whistle noise when it's closed and aircon on.

And while on noises, drivers seat seems abit creaky, brakes abit squeaky.

Bloody noises!!!!! Twanging one worried me though lol.

Sounds like a stone has got up and hit the 'shield' behind the rear brake disc. It's happened to me a fair few times, and it did scare me a little when it first happened.

If you get a small stone, throw it through your wheel at the circular piece of metal around the disc you should be able to replicate the sound to prove it one way or another.

I've got no ideas about the driver's side vent???

I thought it might be a stone but just sounded too metalic like really something come off and twanging like a spring or something. But there's slot of **** on the roads round here so I'm hoping it is just a stone then.

Again, thanks for the advice! I think you helped yesterday lol.

First time it happened to me was the second day I had the car, I thought the exhaust had come loose...

The circular 'shield' is only fixed at the centre so the outsides are free to move and 'twang' about.

Well sounds pretty identical to me then. We how it didn't do it last night, parked up all night, then did it literally straight away when I set off.

I hate cars. I'm paranoid waiting for the next noise. Maybe il buy a push bike next.
