Been driving, mainly "urban" 30Mph  with some motorway/DCW once a week.

Car, Leon Cupra (03) with Green filter, and 007P DV. Everything else Standard.

Running standard 95 RON pump fuel. I got 293Miles out of the last tank. (Put 55 litres back in this morning.

Anyone else getting similar?

Cheers

follow the link and get rid of the 95ron, upgrade to 97,98,99. i.e tesco, shell total premium fuels, will get more mpg to a tank and 95 ron isnt ment to run in the cupra engine... its poor fuel.

Just over half a tank left, done loads of ragging about and i have done 293 miles.... :)

It fails like a stone when you get to 1/2 left.

your better off im imagining there are 5 sectors to the fuel guage, but it just shows the bottom 4!

and simmocupra, yes that mileage is normal.
While many will say you should not run 95 RON, it is ok to run it. However the 1.8T does run a little better on 97+ ron so you may see a little improvement from a tank, many swear by it. Many dont...

the 1.8T / leon is simply not an economical mix.

it states 98ron in the petrol filler cap....

car runs lumpy and ecu adjusts tghe timing to suit 95 ron.

better quality fuel means better protection lubrication in your internals.

you wouldnt put crap oil in your car so why crap fuel thats not meant from factory to be in the engine?

rant over.... lol

read it again. It does state 98 ron. but it also states 95.
The handbook states its ok to use 95, - but i agree it does state that a slight loss in performance can be expected.
This really is due to the fact that figures, power etc are recorded and reported using 98 ron.

Dont get me wrong, i use super, however its not mandatory.

If you use 98 ron the ecu will adapt to that, so if you then put 95 ron in it can run lumpy for a period. - however i can also vouch that if i put tescos super in after using shell for a good few tanks i get the same affect.
If the ecu adaption is reset and its got 95 ron in, i dont get lumpy running.

i got 36.4 average on 100mile round trip with a mixture of city/motorway driving on 95ron, that was at 75-80 on the motorway and speed limit round city/stop start traffic. i was quite impressed!

i have to use 95ron most of the time there isnt alot of option round here for super unleaded...

Averaged out about 33 mpg with my standard Leon cupra, running on 95 ron for the 5 years I owned it,with no running problems whatsoever,so James that kinda displaces your argument about fuel.
When we went to County Durham for hols earlier this year I was seeing 39 mpg sitting at steady 75-80 mph on motorway.

My LC averages 27 and has done for the last 20,000 miles of all types of driving
The Focus on the otherhand is 22

average for my lcr is 23.6 since i bought the car, although it is less at the moment as i only get about 19mpg when towing karts about :(

I've been running 95 RON for a while and not had any problems - might start running 98 now the prices are down again, but when it was mapped was told it'd work fine on 95 but adjust for 98 :)

Hi, I did a really big journey yesterday tank full to the brim and managed to get 400 miles out of the LCR - absolutely and completely boring trip as i sat at 65-75 as seems best in the LCR in 6th. I think the main thing was keeping it bang on a speed and not moving which is why id like cruise control but some say its not as economical.

i've managed 42.3mpg with cruise control set at 62mph in my lcr. that was over a 140 mile trip

iv managed to get almost 450miles out of one tank of fuel, that was back in the summer when i went to santa pod with a couple of mates. The worst iv had, was a tank last me under 200 miles, but i was flooring it everywhere. I always use Tesco Superunleaded 99ron or shell V power
