tyres for a Toledo TDI SE 2003 with alloys

ive just bought this car and it has spoked seat alloys, with 195x65r15's on them, the same size thats on the spare, which is a firehawk. has someone just followed the spare wheel size or is are these tyres the correct size? the reason i ask is if i put the registration into Kwik ****'s site it comes back saying i need 205x55R16's.

i can get some 205x65R15's, that a friend has going, will these be ok on the Toledo or will i invalidate the insurance?

If the 195x65R15's fit your rims then that is what you need. The last figure is the wheel diameter in inches - I think you'd notice if you had 15 inch tyres on 16 inch rims. 195x65R15 is the size I have on my 2001 TDI 110 SE.

205x65R15's will fit your wheel diameter, but be 1cm wider than expected. I wouldn't expect them to fit comfortably on the rims, but exactly how bad this will be I can't say, only that it isn't what they were designed for. I wouldn't do it, though.
