Has anyone retrospectively fitted under-seat storage compartments to their Mk3?

In the week that our FR was built SEAT decided that they would only fit the storage compartment to the driver's seat. Mrs Niggle has decided that she might also like one under the passenger seat.

Is it the same part for both sides and do I need to remove the seat to fit the storage compartment?

Will it need a VCDS tickle after reconnecting the battery or should the various controller modules just remember everything?

Anyone know what size spline bit is needed for the runner bolts?

I fitted the under seat storage to my Ibiza and while you have to unbolt the seats you didn't need to disconnect them. Once the runners were unbolted from the floor, with the seat slid back as far as it will go on the runners, I just tipped the seat backwards and let it rest on the rear seats. There was enough length on the wiring so nothing was stretched or pulled and this gave plenty access to fit the storage box.

Did you end up fitting the storage under the passenger seat niggle? I've got a Leon SC with storage under the driver's seat but want a bit more hiding space. It's one of the things that I miss about my 04 Megane - the arm rests on the doors had covered storage, there were storage bins in the floor in the footwells and the glove box was absolutely massive.

Anyone had any success fitting a under-seat storage compartment to the passenger seat - would like to have this, as my drivers seat is electric and cannot be retro-fitted due to lack of space and miss this feature which I had in my previous Audi A3
