My 2008 Mk2 has been detailed to death since new, however had it up on the ramps and their was a fair bit of light surface corrosion over the back end.

I have attacked it using Dinitrol products which are easy to use.

Pressure Washed underneath (bought an Vari angled head for PW)
Wire brushed off the worst
Treated with Dinitrol RC800 or RC900 aerosol
Sprayed with Dinitrol 3125
Topped off with Dinitrol 4941

Should keep it sweet for another while.

Suspension parts or body?
I sprayed mine last week with clear waxoil on the rear arms and subframe and the exposed areas where wheelarch liners dont cover. The car is still in warranty and had no corrosion but should keep it tidy for the next owner

Mostly suspension parts and superficial rust on some exposed areas thyat are not protected by covers a rub with wire brush removed it,glad to catch it. I have used waxoil before but the Dinitrol is so easy to use in aerosol as you can control the spray area easily. The finish of the unnderbody wax is like a factory finish.
I removed the wheel arch liners and the rear ones had a bit of crud behind them, blasted them with 3125 and the exposed areas with 4941.
