Unknown box in drivers side rear door??

Hi guys.

Whilst removing door panel on drivers side rear i found a black and silver box inside wired in to the wiring loom of the door. Can anyone tell me what the hell this is??? im guessing its something to do with the alarm which must of been wired in by the dealer when it was new.

Anyone else know what im on about do you have this?? I would love to know what it is!!

I fixed it up properly on the door and left it how i found it.

All i wanted to do was my door seals!!!!

Could be a crossover box for your tweeters and door speakers, it sends the correct frequency to the right speaker. Other then that not a clue what it could be .

i should really of taken a photo of it. its definatley been wired in after manufacture and its also connected to the light on the door. could be crossover i dont know?? any other suggestions??

Were there any makes/models/serial numbers on the box? what sort of wires were coming out of it, how many?

from what i can remember there were was a grey, 2 black,purple and red wire. it it also had an in line fuse on the red wire. it was two boxes taped together with electrical tape and some of the wires joined the 2 boxes together. there was some numbers on it i should really take the door panel off again and get them. as i said i just left it as i found it all i did was tidy the wires up and make it a bit more presentable! hope this helps!!!

did you buy it new, could be auto windows, i have that , small grey box grey multi core cable coming out of it.

i didn't no. Ive had the car about 6 months now and lovin it!!! the auto windows thing is that when the windows shut automaticley when you lock the car and there open?? or push and hold the lock button on remote?? would that work or is there another way of doing it please tell! i will try it tomorrow.

What is that autowindow reflex module do?? it doesnt look like that and its in the wrong door! the box i found was in the offside rear door. it could be the same just a different brand or version of it. dont know??!!
