You do notice the difference on these for sure.

But if an engine has been designed with it in mind that it stands to reason really.

I don't understand all the fuel and science behind it, could someone explain in Lehmanns terms?

Petrol has an octane rating (aka RON which is an industry standard)

Higher the rating, bigger the bang basically.

93 ish is about standard in the Uk for regular unleaded

95-100 most super unleaded

So the more octane you have the better the bang when it explodes in the cylinder and the more grunt you get hehehehehehehehe Use jet fuel man!!!!! hahahahahahha

LOL. Not quite. It just improves the car performance and not the sound. It is also better for looking after the engine.

Techie mines the sports coupe 1.6 ibiza mk5 should mine run on super as i am finding it giving better miles per gallon now, just wondering what range of engines in the mk5 should run on super ideally if the owners can afford it? A list would be useful M8 please if you can get five mins to do it.[B)]:funk:

Any of our petrol engines can run on super unleaded, but the 1.6 isn't an FSI/direct injection so it isnt as important.
