Well for the past few MONTHS, my car has been smelling of a very damp kind of smell inside - and I always thought it was just bacteria built up in the AC vents, so made nothing much of it and was going to take it into the garge when i returned from holiday

Anyway, I was away to NY for the past few weeks and hear the weather here has been terrible, and the day i got back, i found a huge puddle of water in the passanger REAR footwell - quite literally a puddle, not just dampness

Not sure where its comming from, but there is also a small bit in the front footwell - but it is NOT the filter, so off to the garage i went....

Luckily i have a few weeks warranty remaining - garage are keeping it for a week to investigate the leak by striping the whole side of the car they said, so they gave me a ibiza sport 1.4 as a replacement for a week! (bit of a change from a LC:lol:)

Only thing garage could suggest was that the water was coming in from the same area and then spreading out along the seal and leaking into the rear and front footwells - as they said its rare to have two different leaks at the same time!

Just hope they can rid the car of the damp smell, because it was humming!

Its the holes at the bottom of the door that block up.

There is a massive thread on it, fully inlustrated. Only saw it the other day.

 Cant remember where tho

I had a leak on the rear end of my front door and this caused the rear footwell to fill up with water - if you look at the shape of the floor pan you can see how it can happen.

As said above - take a look at the guide thread

my leak came from the the engine bulkhead on the drivers side, where the wiring loom comes through.
Similar set up to the pollen filter and needed resealing.
It showed up excatly as you describe and SEAT took out the interior and used the wash bay to find it.
