lol i was hopeing people would give me entusiasm to spend about 5 hours doing it all again... the sub i was running was a 12" the rms figuar is about 175 but it use's it well dont it? lol

Damn thats even more impressive now. Im just looking at some different subs to match up with the new amp, not sure whether to stick with a 12 inch or go back to a 10. Gonna uprate the speakers and get them running off a amp also. Then after Ive paid next years insurance I think I will make myself a boot build.

lol whats ur budget mate? i got my sub for £30 of ebay but i was lookin for a pacific make etc.. it was a great deal as these r normally stupid money and i didt think i was gonna win it! if i was you mate i would go for something decent like my set up save up for each bit like i did its well worth in my opinion when its set up right (thx andy)

The rainbow hammer sub is one amazing sub for sound quality mate for the extra £35 i would go with rainbow insted of Pioneer as that sub is in the price range of infinity kappa and vibe... rainbow are a so much higher spec than these mate... you could also then get rainbow comps when money allows... then that would be one great sounding system! maybe better than my Jl one!

richierich.. what jl's is it that you got cuz i've just put my set up in and sounds crystal im running 2x 12" w3v2's rms of 250 each with a jl 500/1 running them a pioneer deh-77 head unit i fink or sumit similar focal k2 components in the doors.. and an mtx running them will be swapping it in for a jl w7 pioneer avic-d3 1000/1 n 2x jl300/2s n some rear focal coaxles.. lol and some 0gage wireing can't wait.. should be gettin it all soonish lol

The thing is im scared of blowing a lower power rated sub with such a powerful amp. I think I will upgrade the components first and then go from there.

I might just get that rainbow sub and the pioneer one. Is rainbow really good then? How come so much of the more expansive stuff doesnt look that impressive on the spec sheets?

does my Jl stuff look impressive on spec sheets? i was worried about it not sounding loud enough but it was more than i was expecting so i was more than happy... yes Rainbow are really that good! i would stich to One brand of speaker/sub as they will sound better together match the amps up to if you can... you wont blow a low'ish spec sub on that amp mate as i was running my Jl on very nearly full amp power (the one i sold you) and my sub didt blow... just dont put the settin up to high if ur worried about blowing one.

ermm thats a question lol a 12" Wo-4, xr 16cm comps, A2150 (2x70 rms), A1200 (1x175 rms) amps.. i have 4 gauge splitting into 8 gauge for each with the headlights dimming at night if turned up to much... this didt happen with the two kenwood amps i had...even tho they was a "higher power rated"

i can see the reason for it if you have 860 watts but mine is only 175!! lol its because the lack of earth/ground chassis to batt and probs alternator to batt earth... and engine to batt earth just to help them all out... i would first upgrade or add to the original chassis earth to the batt as you put your amp earths to the chassis so it has to earth more unless the cable isent big enough to allow it.. im gonna do this soon!

I see.

One of my mates just came round, hes finally got rid of his stock components from his polo and has but in some diamond M6 components. He has that coupled with my old pioneer amp and a alpine type r sub. Have to say that he gets brilliant sound quality from that setup although he tells me he has not yet installed the new tweeters cause he could get em to fit, they were too fat!

lol yea my lights dim aswell.. there is a thing that u can buy to stop that.. costs 180 quid n i got one but i can't find anywhere to find them again.. does work well tho but when u put the clutch down u can hear the system looses a little bit of power so the engine keeps ticking nicely
