Upgrading or adapting standard intercooler

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before. I would like to upgrade the intercooler, but someone has given me the idea of either keeping standard ones but adapting the long middle pipe and put another intercooler in the middle. Or getting one of another car that runs more bhp like Audi S6? I might be talking rubbish but I wondered if it's even possible. I don't really want to cut the bumper and would want it to sit behind like bumper like airtec ones.
Cheers

presume you run an LCR and not a cupra?

yes you can put a long low height intercooler into the cross pipe, however this would mean 3 small intercoolers and so I am unsure how efficient the pipework runs would then be.
You can put a good size intercooler in the middle without cutting the bumper.

Yeah I run a 2005 LCR I see what your saying three small ones probably isn't as effective as a decent size one. I read through the threads and it seems u can do it for cheaper than 500 quid but still get good results and not cut the LCR up, what do u think of installing another cars intercooler? Where would u start? Figure out size of intercooler then work out pipe work etc?

I got an ASH mount intercooler and all pipework for £125ish from ebay.

R Tech recommend their piping so i assume the intercoolers are good.

Not had it fitted yet but will be soon.. I think their intercoolers are out of stock for a few month, read someone on FB say it

If you go for a branded one normally you can keep the fogs , I have a pro alloy one and I've kept the fog lights
