Upgrading to 1756 turbo??

Due to the costs involved going above 230 bhp for my Cupra TDI isn't an option.

Although the 1756 turbo may well be an option. Has anybody upgraded to this turbo? Does it deliver the claimed power and does it do it smoothly/progressively?

Also what hardware is necessary to use this turbo?

Thanks :)

Only if you buy the turbo unconverted.

There are suppliers that will stock turbos with welded ASZ/BLT manifolds and vacuum actuators.

I've been in contact with a seller on ebay who says he has a 1756 with manifold welded, wasn't sure what he meant. Thanks shedding light on that. I'll enquire to see if he's fitted it with vacuum actuator.

A new oil feed is necessary isn't? Are these available off the shelf for my Cupra? Thanks :)

If the seller is XMAN then they would be welded and vacuum converted already. That's who supplied my turbo and can't recommend him enough. Just ensure you get a braided oil line, oil return kit and GTB flange.

I would also ask for an adjustable actuator bracket for fitting.

That's the fella. Did you get your oil return kit, braided oil line and GTB flange from him? By the way what is a GTB flange??

Also, do you know if the Cupra intercooler pipe work will link up to the 1756?

Thanks :)

Yes, he supply's pretty much everything. Email him for off eBay prices.

The GTB flange is for the fabrication of the downpipe to fit to the turbo.

To link the original pipe work to the turbo, you'll need a 45' or 70' angle 57mm silicone pipe for the outlet. That's it.
