Uprated clutch Leon Mk1 Cupra PD150

Ok so I am considering a remap and after reading lots and lots of threads have decided I am going to save up and uprate the clutch then get the remap done, I have a list of other things too but this is first up.

So I have found this set which seems a good deal as it includes an uprated clutch and DMF:

But of course I can't place URL's so here are the details, if I remap the torque will be roughly 303ft/lb and I have 3 clutch options replace with:

1. the standard or SACHs replacement clutch and DMF which is £295 but I cannot find a torque rating for it.

2. A SACHs DMF and Darkside Clutch kit for £575 (not sure what their own stuff is like), clutch rated upto 375ft/lb

3. A SACHs DMF with Performance SRE Clutch kit for £710 and clutch rates upto 360ft/lb on organic disc and 390ft/lb on a sintered one?

Any help or info would be much appreciated.

Thought about the awesome gti clutch and smf kit? £625 i think.

I hadn't mate, will take a look. Only issue is the SMF I know they last longer but have seen some reviews about the noise being awful.

Theres a thread.....its 25 pages long and is labeled awesome gti clutch £625 and worth every penny. There people with pd150's with a remap and have done over 10k miles with no problem.

Yeah the smf are a little noisier but because of the noise of these engines the extra noise isnt really noticeable. I believe they use vaileo silent smf's which are a lot quieter than original smf's.

They do do them for the pd150's, i was looking in to it for mine when i thought my dmf was on way out, but my dmf has gone quiet again so not replacing it yet.

Will drop them an email as the tdi clutch kit on their website does engine code AGR and ALH but not ARL, which is the 150.

Mines is abit juddery when u first start it up.. Probably due a change soon myself...

Im on 103k running 186bhp and 280lb/ft or torque and the clutch is coping fine! Zero slip at all! If you get a good custom map and keep the torque below 300 lb/ft like me you wont run into amy issues!


If your going to uprate clutch you might aswell future proof it and go for a a helix clutch and single mass flywheel! The standard dual mass just isnt upto the job!
