Hi all,
I'm due to pick up my bocanegra on Thursday 2nd hand, 2010 plate. I have gone through the history of the car and its had the waterpump replaced and has had a recall done on the brakes (not sure what mind).
I have been reading all about these misfire issue and to tell you the truth im pretty worried. Car has done 19,000 miles - im hoping most of the issues will have been ironed out!
Out of interest at what age are people getting issues with oil consumption misfires etc - do they generally happen when new (ish).
Anywho back to the question i have read that these NGK BKR7EIX spark plugs are the ones to have in the standard engine even if not mapped. Do these plugs have a different gap setting to standard, i know they run cooler but just concerned if i need to regap them or is it a simple switch over?
As the car is still in warranty - would it be frowned on if i changed to these do you think.
I just want to pick the car up, ensure i'm set with fresh oil + updated ecu/dsg software (dealer is doing this) but when i asked about the spark plugs they looked puzzled so i was just going to do it.
Assistance much appreciated.
p.s previously had the leon mk1 cupra tdi... i've been away for a bit as a had a clio 200 - but running costs have started to hurt so i've hunted for something in between
