Hi Guys.
Was just about to top my diesel up from half a tank at shell and thought too myself i wonder if i can use v power diesel ontop of whats already in the car. The car is remapped.
Im going to start using ONLY v power diesel but i thought to myself should i let it run near empty first then use v power from then on or just start using it from now and top up as usal just with v power instead??
Thanks guys

This is what the Shell website states

Can I mix Shell V-Power Diesel safely with other grades of diesel?

Shell V-Power Diesel can be mixed with other diesels. However other fuels do not have the same formulation as Shell V-Power Diesel and to experience the full benefits of this unique product continuous use is recommended.

As my new Exeo has a Diesel Particulate filter fitted I intened to use VPower Diesel myself, it is supposed to be cleaner...

I found that I can only feel the real difference after two tanks of pure V-power - it does take some time for the ECU to adjust to a slightly different fuel.

For all those wanting to try V-Power, shell have 5p off tomorrow (12/11/2010). Just turn up and fill up!

Makes it about the same price as their regular fuel so probably worth a go.

dam it!! missed that by 2 days then.just started to use v-power too.

After running V-power derv for a few tanks, ive not noticed any difference compared to normal diesel with millers ecomax added.

Both impressive, and im sure taking into account price of the millers and premium of v power. They prob work out about the same.

well im on my 2nd tank of v power and i must say the car does pull better. went to worthing yesterday with the family, missis 2 kids, and the car was pulling like i was the only one in it.very impressed.

Yup, once all the crap on the injectors is cleaned off etc i found my engine was much smoother and willing. Millers did that though.

I was using V power all the time as price at local Shell near work was on par to normal diesel near home - that was until the price went up and remained high - defo made engine quieter and more responsive as compared to chap at work with same engine who used Mozzas diesel. now use shell normal diesel and dose with Millers (bought 5L tin) as works out cheaper - keeps things clean and boost cetane rating - double dose every now and again...

yeh it is.

iuse millers seems to give positive results. took about two fill up before i felt a difference. so id say using v power would take the same amount of time too

Has anyone found that the car seemed to run WORSE on V-Power? I ran a tank last week and wasn't impressed, i found it harder to maintian a high average mpg. It could be the fact it was the first tank so i wasn't getting the full benifit and the average was down due to the horrible weather (very windy and wet all week) but i really wasnt impressed at all. Got a tank of boggo shell again and seems back to its old self, though its nice weather again but still cold.

Think i might try the millers, it works out about £1.30 a tank where V-Power is nearly £7 a tank more.

Noticed my mpg is down, but I that's because the engine is running much smoother and quieter so i end up pootling along in 2nd at 2500rpm without noticing, rather than using 3rd at lower rpm etc

My car hardly smokes on V-power.

When I bought the car it was probably being run on normal diesel, and used to smoke quite a bit. I've done 4,000 miles in 2 months on V-power and it doesn't smoke - averaging 50mpg....I'm pretty sold!

I've noticed a difference with V-power but mainly nearer the top end of the revs, a bit more poke. I know it's more expensive but I don't buy value crap food from tesco and expect my body to work great.:)

I've used v power many times and found no benifit to the performace of the car but when you add the cost of millers diesel power stuff i guess there's nowt in it cost wise. I've had nearly 8 years and well over a 100K miles to try out various options.
Some cheap brand food in tesco is perfectly good stuff btw. It's all clever marketing i should know as been in the bussiness for 25 years lol

Yeh but I wouldn't eat it all the time. Actually I don't ever eat it:p

I've often used Millars and when i ran out of that went onto shell V-power, however i recently tried Total excelleum and have found that better than both.. .
