Morning all,
Happy new year to you all.

I am finally getting round to getting the ABS fixed on my V5 Tolly, as due to a change in Job, I rarely use the car these days, so I really only use it at the weekend, and maybe one evening during the week..
So the necessity hasn't really been there to get it done, but with the MoT due next month, I thought better get it done asap.

I have the ABS and TCS light illuminated on the dash.

I have checked the rear sensors on Saturday, but these were giving out good readings onthe multimeter.
So I am looking at the fronts, but couldn't find where the wire plugs into anywhere through the inner wing. Does it run directly to the control module.?
In which case, what is the best way to check the voltage.?

I have been checking out sensors etc on ebay, and when I have the wheels off forgot to check the part number.
One of the ones I am looking at is: 1j0927803 this is quoted as fitting all Toledo applications.? As well as other VAG Group vehicles.!!
Will this fit..?

Are the sensors easy to take out of the hub etc.?
Thanks,
Ross.

From memory, the ABS sensors only have about six inches of wire before they get to a plug. So the first connector (and the best option for checking the voltage) should be hidden behind the brake disc and clipped to the suspension strut.

Again from memory, the sensors themselves are the common Golf 4 sensors, there's not a specific V5 for example. So you should be fine with the ones you found.

For removal, the screw is fairly easy to take out as long as you don't strip the head, but the sensor itself can be a bit of a pain to dislodge. Just be careful not to snap it in the hub.

Fitted and fixed.. The drivers side was the culprit, but I have replaced both as it is an easy job to do.. Whilst i was under there, I cleaned up the ABS Reluctor Rings with a wire brush..
I now have ABS and Traction Control.
