V5 or TDI

Hello All,first time of using the forum, so be gentle.Anyway this is my predicament.Definately want a Toledo,but can't decide,whether to go for the V5 or TDI(the one iv'e seen is the 110 SE).The V5 got all the goodies etc, and the TDI got the better fuel consumption.Its going to be my daily driver(round trip of 15 miles,country/town).My head says TDI,but my heart says V5.Your comments/oppinions,would be much appreciated.Also anything particular to lookout for on either car.Thanks.Dave.

thats a short journey so the TDI wouldnt give its best economy in that situation. I think really its your decision to make, if you can afford the little extra for the fuel in the V5 then get that one....

Thanks Stew,never had a deisel before,so thought i might try one.Everybody seems to rave about them.But,i must admit the V5 seems a hell of a lot of car,for the money.

yes the modern TDI are something to rave about, they are very good, but i think in your case you wouldnt see the bigger benefits.

Hello sssstew, I've had both. For that distance the TDi wont give the best economy as mentioned above but it will still better the V5. Which one, the V5 without a doubt.

I getting 32-33MPG around town out of my V5 and can even push 40mpg on a run if you sit around 70 with the cruse control on.

40 mpg!!! I don't think my display knows that figure.

Dave - Are you interested in doing many performance mods? The v5 is fairly limited in what you can do.

I love the sound of my V5 in the morning, that's the one for me!

I looked at loads before I settled on the one I have. Make sure you look at a few. Which one are you looking at 150(10v) or a 170(2OV)?

Its the 170,and iv'e bought it.Seemed to good to miss.02 plate,42000 miles,full history,old mots,receipts for everything and 4k on the road.I also got a tank of petrol.Not planning on doing to many mods,maybe just cosmetic stuff.

Not at the moment,got to find the camera, the one on my phone not very good. The cars mint though,dark metalic blue and in great condition inside and out.Will look even better after a proper wash and polish.Looks like i am going to have to spend some more money,getting some decent cleaning stuff.

I remember test driving a late V5 a while ago, had the sat nav and leather interior, very very plush, engine sounded sweet too.
