vag.com has stopped working!!HELP

Hi,
I brought a pikey cable (blue) from e-bay as my car has starting issues when warm, it came with a software disc with loads of differant files, I don't know which I'm supposed to download. Anyway I downloaded something, went into the options menu, tested port and all seemed o.k. The first time I hit autoscan a list of faults came up but then it stopped working, now when I try to scan again it just says "vag.com has stopped working" and takes ages for me to close the window. If anyone has any ideas Please help as I'm getting nowhere and starting to hate the cat I loved.

Are you using VCDS-Lite?

If not - you should be

H, it says VAG.COM release 409-1??? my computer also says VCDS lite but nothing happens when I select it, the guide did say something about vista but I really don't unnderstand what it's trying to tell me.

Ross tech thing looks like it's for graphs but that doesn't work either

I'd be wary of the software provided by anyone other than rosstech - too great a chance for virus & trojans

Oh dear, I have looked at the guide on your vista sticky and the port is def working as I get the same message as in the screen dump reading "port status ok, interface found, type serial pass through, opto/iso no, Ross Tech design no????

Maybe I should try to relaoad the lite from thee disk???

iT WORKED

Wow, went ot to the car and the lite version loaded up, gave me loads of codes with please register/activate, but it also told me

16804-catalyst system:bank 1:efficiancy below threshold=Milltek sports cat

17949-fuel pump relay (j17)pen circuit-p1541-35-10-intermittent

17635-fuel injector for cylinder 3 (n32):short to ground-p1227-35-10---intermittent

17833-EVAP purge valve (n80)-short to ground-p1425-35-10---intermittent

01276-ABS hydraulic pump (v64)-012-electrical fault in circuit-intermittent

Any help with what the problems could be would be great.
