VAG-COM with latest models ?

Hi All,

Does anyone know if VAG-COM will work with the latest models (ie. 2006 New LEON) ?

Thought I had read somewhere that the protocols had changed on the latest models (Golf V based ?) but can't find where !

They are CAN based i think, the latest vagcom supports it afaik

Yes, the latest VAG-COM (currently version 512.4) works with all the latest 2006 models.

Many of the latest cars (including the 1P chassis Leon) require a direct CAN connection for diagnostics.

Got it.

The difference between the CAN bus and the ISO K-Line systems are making sense now.

Basically, your latest software is OK for both systems (since V404.0), newer hardware (interface lead) HEX+COM+CAN or HEX+USB+CAN is also OK for both systems.

We like backwards compatibility
