I have vagcom and wondered if there is a specific guide to using vagcom to show how much power(bhp) the car is producing?

If you go to:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/index.html

and scroll down to the "Some useful off-site links" section, you'll see a link to an Excel spreadsheet that can help you with the calculation, listed as:

"Block 120 spreadsheet - This generates a Horsepower and Torque graph using the calculated torque values".

The clue's in the name! You need to log block 120, to get your torque and RPM readings over a range of RPM values.
