VAGCOM /OBD reader ... Someone point me in the right direction

Yeah I've got the U281 as well as the OBD bluetooth and Torque app on my phone. The U281 is good for what it is - a basic fault code reader. You can clear fault codes too, whatever is causing your glow plug light to flash may have flagged a code. If so then you can clear it but if you don't fix the problem then obviously it'll come back.

Go on amazon! I have a vgate vs450! It's a rebranded sealey unit and mine cost £42 posted! Sealey is £300+!
Mine does pretty much everything from abs, crash sensors, engine and airbag lights , interior sensors, and loads more!
And it does other cars apart from VAG cars! Did an engine light on a focus the other day, and a Chevrolet lacetti!
Saved me an absolute fortune! And it's fast too!

+1 I chose it over others as it gives explanations as well rather than just code numbers as some do so that you then need to look up what the code means.

i just got the U281 :) see how that turns out, might get the full VAG com cable and i guess i'll need the programme as well if i want to change stuff up

Check your brake lights if the glow plug light is flashing, I'm pretty sure it's the same as the golf tdi.
