VCDS full throttle logging won't help to diagnose a hot start fault mate. Is it 100% not the common VW hot start fault due to the cranking speed?

Aside from your overboost which i can only assume is due to the new turbo not being set up the same way the original is, the only thing screaming alarm bells at me is the actual EGR. It is displaying exactly the same as the actual MAF reading which it shouldn't be. On a standard map it should (fairly) closely follow specified.

Just read last page of your other thread. Really need to log cranking speed when hot to 100% rule out the common issue in the map. Disable the engine from starting to make this easier if you wish. Dont just look for peak cranking speed, measure just the RPM and check how long it takes to get up to speed (at least 250rpm from memory)

Does it still run really lumpy from cold too? Logged injector balance during the cold start? Could be a duff injector or a glow plug not performing as it should, check for misfires during cold start too.

So am I right in saying we think the turbo boost issue is likely due to turbo being set wrong so would need to adjust rod length. If so shorter or longer?

Also with regards to egr, i believe the readings are taken from the maf according to that other thread so would be the same. Either way they shouldn't be high like they are.

What is causing this, could it just be directly linked to the turbo pulling more air? When you look at the graph with it plotted together all the lines are behaving the same.

I am not sure what is causing the hot start issue, it only occurred after the tandem pump change but before that was failing to start.

Any chance you can put instructions on my car won't start thread for logging cranking via vcds as im not too sure how exactly to do this in the way you describe.

Also what exactly do I log for the injectors/misfire?

More than likely, i cant tell you how to adjust it from the logs/graphs provided so far though. May not just be the rod length either

Only just had a quick read of the link as i can't view it on the PC in work. EGR reading shown is just the MAF reading so its kinda pointless really. If no driveability or idle issues then EGR is likely to be ok

MAF reading is fine. Injectors - look at the balance when its running lumpy, see if it's related to a single cylinder. Im not sure if theres a misfire counter for the Mk5 tdi on VCDS, you'll have to look.

Will take a look at the other thread now

Jus to add to the health check logs, here is the temperature one.

Is it normal for my coolant temperature to go over 90, the only reason I ask is the health check thread suggests it means a faulty sensor.

Also is the fuel temp OK?

Can't find a misfire counter anywhere. Discovered a worrying amount of oil while taking the egr off earlier see my other thread. Need to address the oil issue before anything else

Due to fact the egr/maf readings and turbo boost seem to mirror each other I am wondering if the Maf or egr are faulty. Anyone know how best I can test these without buying new parts I might not need.
