Hello,

I have just installed an RNS510 in to my 57 plate Leon (MY08). All has gone well except I can't get the unit to comunicate with the MFD. I believe it is because I am using too old a version of VCDS (704.1) as when I enable the relevent bit (CAN BUS - BYTE 3 - BIT 3) I still have CAN BUS and NAVIGATION fault codes (stating that the unit is incorrectly referenced or something). I think 704.1 was released before the RNS510, hence, my problems.

Does anyone know if my diagnosis is correct and if so, is anyone willing to help me out by enabling the bit required on a newer version of VCDS? I am in the Midlands but am willing to travel, and will make it worth your while! :)

Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks,

densil

Densil are you not using a genuine Ross Tech interface? if so just download the latest version of VCDS, if your using a china cable then obviously that option is not available.

I would offer mate but I'm down in the bottom of the southwest 200 SW of Bristol.

Get a new cable mate you wont regret a genuine one as updates are no problem, and they communicate so much faster.

did u manage to sort this out?

I'm having issues with my reinstalling my rns510 where i cannot get the system to communicate with MFD, the media in option is greyed out even though i have a MDI and also the system shuts down after 30mins.

Before all was working fine!

any idea guys?
