From experience in car TV tuners tend to suffer from poor reception , especially digital units. For that price I would doubt the quality will be great. The only good ones I've seen are oem tuners which usually have various antenna throughout the vehicle combined with amplifiers to obtain a decent picture. I'm going to fit a single din size dvd player under the passenger seat.

tested the cko tv tuner and it picked up all the stations with a quality of between 80 and 90%

this was just wired up to a 12v supply in the house , so looking good so far , i think i might mount the antennas in the a pillars so they are hidden :D

Thanks leonlad. You're at the bleeding edge of all this stuff, so I respect your opinion.

fitted the tv tuner today

it works perfectly , all channels picked up i took it for a drive on the motorway and it worked at 80mph without any issues, will just need to tidy up the installation as the ami port being in the glovebox is a royal pain running cables etc , got one of these to tidy up the installation

Nice one! Did you bypass the video in motion yourself or get someone to do it?

no vim is still active , but will look into that too ,waiting on a vcds 12.12.3 cable

the sound was perfect at 80mph :)

well worth £40 lol

just need to fix the cable routing , and modify the location of the tuner a bit better

As far as I'm aware vim can't be deactivated with vcds. You need a vag can pro cable as this can actually re flash the module with a new file . Vcds is not able to to do this and won't allow access to change the speed threshold. Agree about the cable installation.....mine is the same.
