Decided to vinyl wrap the bit that comes over the dials, around the middle vents and then down either side of the radio/air con.
Ive been told this is plastic welded in, is this true or can it be removed easier as I have seen a picture of a mk2 leon with just this bit off but i cant see any reason people would lie to me about it so im just checking?
Failing that how hard is it to remove the steering wheel?
Any other help or tips appreciated, Ive did a few vinyl bits before but Im no expert so I need help.
Cheers.

Told you it was plastic melted :p You can judge wether i'm any good at wrapping if you see my car at the meet ha ha. I reckon that is going to be very difficult to wrap tbh. I would quite like to wrap the platic surrounding the actual speedo themselves.

I know I think I just want someone to tell me it's not. How what have you been wrapping? Hoping to have mine done for Sunday night too.

I'd have thought at the very least you could remove the dials, heater vents and radio, and then you only need to be careful on the edges? It would certainly be easier than removing the whole dash, and to be honest removing the whole dash won't give you much extra room to wrap?

It's just that I think the steering wheel will get in the way. How do you remove the heater vents and radio surround? I had a play about with the radio surround but was scared I'd break something. I'd really love for this to go well but I'm not too optimistic just now.

I can take my dash out in half an hour. But I've done it a few times no. Allow an hour and you should have time for a tea break too

What does it actually involve? I'm not confident with wiring or anything like that.

There is some wiring but it's just a case of unplugging the connectors. Nothing major really.

I took mine out because of the rattles

So your does'nt rattle now? I've got a rattle when going over really bad surfaces, but most of the time it's fine. Prob because the mileage is low, wait till i get to 40k ha ha, i'll want to rip it out!!

It's certainly a lot better. I'd go as far to say mine is the quietest Ibiza I've been in. I've taken out the whole interior pretty much and added around 60kgs of sound deadening

I want to do this! Hate when you hit a 5mm bump and sounds as if the strut is coming though the bloody car! What did you do behind the dash to sort the rattles?

Sound deadening, cables clipped and tidied so they can't vibrate, parts siliconed as it went back together. Just common sense stuff where you think something might rattle against something else
