Phew... Thanks for putting my mind at rest, they will be here Friday
Cheers Jinxy:D

The ET he has quoted is for 18s tho...

if you are putting on 35mm offset 19s... u are gonna get rubbing mate.

My Et45 19s with 235 tyres scuffed on bumps quite a lot.

The rears arn't the problem. You say that you think 3mm shouldn't be a problem but an offset of 38 on a 19" x 8.5" rim may be your limit. Bear in mind these Leon's have a high offset to start with 50+. If you've already bought them then all you can do is try them when you get them and see how you get on. You may be better with a 225 or 215 tyre if you have problems with tyres that are on.

Did you get them off ebay yeah? I was looking at some yesterday i think it was in the same spec. Very good price by the way.

As far as i know the limit without rubbing on the strut or anywhere for that matter, on the FRONT is

18" 8.5" ET45

I was very concious of this when enquiring all those months ago. This will have them nice and flush with the arch.

The rears are NOT an issue, ET35 will be perfectly fine.

The higher the offset, the closer they are into the car. The lower the offset, the more they will stick out.

The standard 18inch BBS sports which i had on my car to start with were around the ET50or ET52 mark.

I am purely telling you the set up which i had and how it sat, Simple as.

i was 19, 235 tyres, ET45 - wheels sat pretty much in line with the rear arch. on the front, if you looked straight at the car you could see they were sticking out a few mm. They would only scuff when hitting dips on the road.

Your's being an even lower offset (sticking out more) i would presume that they would not only look a bit daft, but cause more rubbing problems.

Here is my car just now, ET45, 225 tyres - as you will see they sit just about inline with the arch.

and here it is with the ET45 235's

I would put money on your car rubbing on dips as the wheels will stick out further and if u came to lower it you would probably get big rubbing probs.

Cheers again,
right so the rears are gonna be fine:D what are my options on the front ? will just a narrower tyre help ? or will i have to source 2 of the same wheels with a 8 width:confused:
sorry for being such a pain:p

Do you know the offset these are though? Cos they look like they sit in a fair bit.

Personally i dont think the rears would be ok at all.. but thats just my opinion.

Are they replicas?

Yes, Audi RS4 reps, then VW Scirocco R Reps.

I would near put money on the rears being fine but then I haven't won a bet in months!

The person you need to ask is Dave, the black and orange btcc kitted leon owner from N. Ireland, i'll PM him for you and link him to this thread, he'll definitely clear things up as he's had some mad sized wheels on his wagon!

watch this space....
