I have a Fabia VRS but it has the same engine.

I have aftermarket ICE installed so would be nice to keep an eye on battery health.

I have a boost gauge installed already, but would like an oil temp so I know when its safe to give it some WOT.

I plan on mounting them in a triple pod, which i'll mount upside down below the heater controls.

I also want to go out to France at some point next summer, and would be good to keep an eye on oil temps as it can hit 45 degress out there

petrol 1.8 has a blanking plug that could be used... you may have similar?
however just fitted a temp and pressure sender using a sandwich plate, between oil filter+engine. far easier!:)

looks very similar:yes: i got away with "hand tight" and so far im leak free... but if i did it again id sorce a suitable socket/spanner for the main thread.

also used that ptfe tape on the sender threads but high up the thread so its wasnt in the oil flow

Oh hello again haha.

How did you go about it?

I've read about a blanked off plug near to the oil filter, did you use this?

Or did you use a sandwich plate?

:)

On the Cupra Allards fitted a sandwich plate with oil temp and pressure gauge censor fitted to it. On my 2.0BKD PD140 engine in the Audi there is a plug on the side of the engine that was removed and a doubler fitted to fit two censors, oil pressure and temp again. There might be a plug on the 1.9 engine but i was meant to of had an oil cooler fitted but never got around to it before i rolled the car. I have been told that you get a more accurate reading by fitting the censor in the sump not a sandwich plate by several people but weather there is any truth or much difference in the temp to make any difference i don`t know.

interesting... temp gauge reads about 5 degrees lower since moving sender from blanking plug to s/plate. hard to confirm as its a totally different gauge/sender.
