Hi Guys,

Just a quickie, the HU in my MK3 has a little issue, every time i try and turn the volume up quickly its goes down!

I have to be so slow doing it. Is this a problem i can sort or is my unit bust?

Ta

I have the same issue - Im sure there was a thread about it a while back(sorry cant remember when) - some tried taking the face off and cleaning the volume button -

Might give that a go as it bugs the hell outta me! Grrrr :censored:

We have the issue in one of ours... I think it's something to do with the KNOB itself... we will be swapping over the radio's at the weekend so will give ya an update if we find out anything new.

i dont think its the knob its been brought up before and im sure the conclusion was the auto level on it, i.e faster you go louder it gets, this affects the knob in question

yeah it is the knob causing this problem. There are a couple of ways to get round it:

1) turn the knob anticlockwise a few times then when you go clockwise it wil work correctly.

2) Get a good grip on the knob and turn whilst pulling slightly.

lol i shall get aggressive in the car park after work :D If not 20000volts in my work shop test bay should cure its volume knob :D

i still say theres nothing wrong, if i spin it fast it goes low, if i doing it slow and steady, it works fine. i swear its just to stop you accidentally wacking it up too loud

That'll probably be Seat's excuse, saying its a safety issue.
Just like the MAF sensors that fail, to stop you going too fast all the time

Easy guys :p It still works just a real pain when i try and turn it up for a good track, the tracks half way through by the time its loud :D

If it is a saftey feature then they left it off of some Biza's... cause it's funny how they don't all do it!!!

Doug that really bugs me... I then have to listen to the whole track again.... what a shame lol

well maybe yours is the broken one :p

i dont think its a safety feature, just a convenience type thing. i have no doubt in my mind though that there is nothing wrong with my stereo.theres **** all behind the fascia for a start
