vortex exhaust power claim!

Emailed vortex and they claim that that they can fit an exhaust for our 1.4tsi and will give a minimum of 10% extra bhp and 15% torque, which is 21-22bhp on a revo'd car. Thats without a sports cat. Realistic? Im nt sure

Its a custom exhaust. Theyr getting back to me on figures, but £400 minimum. Depends on what you want.

They say their sports cat will give 5% gain
Cat back to muffler will give 12% gain
Then muffler 3%

Dont know if the Downpipe is included with the sports cat. Just thought I'd pop the question while I do some more research on it

So thats a 32.5bhp gain with the cat ontop of the remap to 215bhp. So ur looking at 250bhp. Sorry I find that hard to believe

Only way to find out is try it. Or wait until Ibiza racebrake dynos his with his exhaust intercooler induction and remap lol

I was thinking that myself. If its near 250 with this exhaust. The Intercooler from forge, your looking at 260, then the intake kit maybe 265. And then a stage 2 remap to tie together all the mods, 265-270bhp could be possible. Although im thinking that would be over the dsg torque limit.
My engines in bits at the moment so i wont be trying that anytime soon, then im off to afghanistan for 6 months so we'll see when i get back. Bet some nutters done it by then.

Too much power for the gearbox. if you want to reach to these figures you're wrong with this cupra. (this is not a manual 20vt)

I was thinking the same thing, to get the most out of the exhaust the map would have to be done after the exhaust?

The map would then have to be tweeked to suite the exhaust and induction kit if you get one fitted for maximum gains.

Realisticly with a revo and no tweeking you'd probably get 230/235BHP with an aftermarket exhaust and induction kit.

I love my car the way it is and I have uprated suspension and brakes. Not sure how much more power would start to ruin the car.

The engine is fine for 270BHP but the DSG is not. I doubt you'd get 270BHP without a hybrid or bigger turbo anyway!

Also 230+BHP through the front wheels on a light car... errrr

Put it this way what ever my car is making in the top mode on V-power does test the front tires if I dont ease on the power. I imagine another 10-15BHP could quite easily push it over the edge where you have a faster car which is more difficult to drive fast.. if you get what I mean..

I can tell you already there is no possible way to get what they claim for one very simple reason. The K03 max output is 240bhp, anything above that is a moving firework(unless you go hybrid way), personally with Full Stage 1 peripherals and a remap close to the limits(could get max 5bhp more which i chose not to) i got 232 and 314Nm of torque.

I always thought the k03 max output was well over 250bhp. Read that someone had 265 bhp out of it and others said they could get 300bhp, somewhere on the audi forum not so long ago.
