Hi all,
First time posting here after reading through a couple of other threads over the last day or two and hoping for some advice.
My 71-plate Cupra Leon VZ2 has suddenly developed the well-known “double-click” noise from the centre/front speaker (just under the windscreen). The clicks are constant 24h, whether the car engine is on/off and locked/unlocked. The SOS error on the dashboard seems to come and go when driving, and the infotainment is stuck permanently on the “Loading…” screen bearing it totally useless.
I’ve already tried the soft reset (holding the power button for 15 seconds) with no success. Car drives fine otherwise.
A couple of extra details:
Thanks!

A couple of extra details:
- I’m 3 years 11 months into a 4-year lease (without maintenance package)
- My local Cupra-approved dealer can’t book me in until after the lease is due to be returned.
- From what I can tell, the standard manufacturer warranty is 3 years, so I’m assuming I may need to pay for this myself.
- Has anyone had this exact fault and knows whether it was fixed as part of a recall/software update or quality campaign? (Seems to be a common MIB3/SOS module failure.)
- Is this generally covered by Cupra/VW even outside warranty due to safety implications with the SOS system?
- Did anyone get this fixed without going through the an approved Cupra dealer (or is dealer the only option due to the software tools needed)
Thanks!
